Hi John,

Mate just thought I would drop you a line to let you know your ovens are little bloody rippers. I installed one in the truck a few weeks back and have just returned from a couple of weeks up north where it was put to great use. Firstly for reheating pies, I was blown away. From rock solid frozen to crispy and stinking hot in as little as an hour! I must admit to being a little sceptical on first use but that all went out the window once I saw just how perfectly cooked my favourite Beef, Cheese and Bacon pie was! Breakfast of champions! With pies under my belt (literally) I had a crack at a small roast, with carrots and spuds, all in an oven bag. Again, I wasn’t overly hopeful of a great outcome but…. John it was a cracker! Perfectly cooked roast and all I did was put it in the oven and drive. Even the worst cook could do that! Keep up the great work John, from all us pie lovers we say thanks mate.

MEALS ON THE RUN From Ray Harris

Once in awhile a new product comes along that's a "Just gotta have one" type product. If you think you've got everything then think again. Introducing the 12 volt "Travel Buddy" reheating oven. We were asked to test one out, and after many camping weekends away we honestly believe these are a must have.

This small and compact oven is just great. It only draws 6 amps, is constructed of Stainless Steel, has a 2 hour timer and plugs into the cigarette lighter. The two sliding tray interior is big enough to reheat plenty of food for two adults 100(H)x180(W)x250(D). The Oven comes with two mounting brackets and can be mounted almost anywhere.

Our trials have found that it takes about 45 minutes to heat a pie and about 60 minutes to heat two large alfoil trays full of tucker. We have done Spaghetti Bolognase, Chicken Scallopini, Curries of various types, PIes, Pasties, Shepard's Pie and they have all turned out 100%. It's so easy to slot your gourmet delight in the oven when you're a little way from camp. Then after arriving, the tent's set up and the food is ready to go. We have found that pre preparing and freezing the menu at home is so easy. All the luxury of home cooking while in the bush. Our "Travel Buddy" is coming with us on the Great Victoria Desert trip this May/June and we're looking forward to hot pies and tomato sauce for lunch.
